Me as a blogger
Chic Thompson in his book What A Great Idea! 2.0 states, “psychologists
have said that the human reaction to a new idea unfolds something like this,
which we could call the Five Stages Of Idea Acceptance” (The Five Stages Of Idea
Acceptance, 2022). He even found a very creative way to depict it (Thompson,
2007):
I can assure he was right! My idea of
blogging went through all these 5 stages and even led me to the thought of
inheritance such task to my students. Giving a little effort to find the
benefits of blogging instead of claiming it as irrelevant at once, I realized that
blogging is a real treasure trove of opportunities. Blogging is a field where
students can improve their analytical skills, express their own point of view and get comments, which sometimes even cause
truth-revealing discussions or helpful advice-generation, practice their
creativity (which blogging certainly requires), and as a minimum improve their
writing skills. Most of sources define blogging as a platform which “gives
students the opportunities to speak their ‘unique voices’. Students can
practice their communication and conversation skills when they comment on
others’ postings or reply to others’ feedback on their blogs. Blogging can also
help students be courteous and thoughtful” (Benefits of Blogging in
Education, 2022). And I am as a student of
Innovative LTEP decided to unlock the door and accept this new idea for me as a
new opportunity.
The purpose of my blog is mainly to share my experience and thoughts about technologies and my teaching, and if somebody will get any useful information or be inspired somehow, I will be very happy with my blog-existence.
Once I set my mind about the Blog idea that was the time to think about design. In my opinion, the vital thing for the blog is to be available to the auditory, if it wasn’t then why even start? If a person needs just self-reflection, it can be a diary somewhere in the ‘secret corners’ of your house or computer folders. With that intention I have chosen Google App – Blogger, which I think, corresponds all the availability functions. The advantage of this App is everybody with the link can read and comment. There are functions where you can embed any image, video or sound and there a lot of themes and layout settings for any taste and preferences, that is where creativity can ‘run wild’. Choosing my layout and design I oriented on simplicity and clarity as Design Department at Pivot suggests that the key principle of a good design is C.R.A.P! And now after you were scared and perplexed a little I will decipher what this odd abbreviation stands for: Contrast, Repetition, Alignment and Proximity (Good Design Is Crap - Pivot Group, 2022), following all these principles will give us a true professional C.R.A.P.))) If you are interested you can find the detailed explanation here: https://askpivot.com/blog/2015/05/28/good-design-is-c-r-a-p/ .
I have chosen the grey background which is mild and not distracting and layout with minimum tags to focus the readers more on blog posts and providing easy navigation, so readers wouldn’t get lost and spent time on clicking unnecessary buttons.

So, all arrangements concerning the “habitat”
of my humble blog are completed. Let’s go together to transforming experience!
